Oakland Arts Collectives
Resource sharing and innovation
Tuesday, October 23, 2:00pm – 4:30pm
Organized and moderated by Alexa Hall, program fellow, Performing Arts, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
Presented by Anyka Barber, program officer, Founder/Owner, Betti Ono Gallery.
Anyka Barber and Alexa Hall will host a workshop for GIA attendees about the current relationship artists have to the infrastructure and resource landscape in Oakland. In this session, we will cover themes of artist-run collective models, housing/studio displacement, and economic growth opportunities. Representatives from local galleries, artist collectives, and cultural hubs will be present to provide commentary during the workshop and for open discussion.
